NIHAR NAYAK
Nihar Nayak is an Associate Fellow at the Institute for Defence Studies of Analysis(IDSA), New Delhi. He worked as Research Associate at the Institute for Conflict Management (ICM), New Delhi, before joining the IDSA. He has written for Faultlines: Writings on Conflict & Resolution, Journal of Peace Studies, Peace and Conflict Monitor, and South Asia Intelligence Review.

PANKAJ KUMAR JHA
Pankaj Kumar Jha, Associate Fellow at the Institute for Defence Studies of Analysis (IDSA), New Delhi. He has written for World Focus, Indian Ocean Digest and South Asia Politics.

PARAMA SINHA PALIT
Parama Sinha Palit is presently with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi. She was worked in the United Service Institute of India and Institute for Defense Studies and Analysis in her earlier stints. Dr Palit has written extensively on US policy and Implication for South Asia in leading Journals, web sites and dailies.

PAUL SOREN
Paul Soren, a Junior Research Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), New Delhi, is pursuing Ph. D from Centre for South, Central, Southeast Asian and Southwest Pacific Studies (CSCSASPS), South Asian Studies Division, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His research interests are India-Nepal relations, foreign policy with special focus on the internal and external dimensions of Maoist insurgency in Nepal and the Maoist movement in South Asia. His other areas of interest are migration, refugees in South Asia and India’s internal security problems. He has written for Strategic Trends (ORF), The Pioneer, CSE India Web and IPCS Strategic Review.

RANJAN K PANDA
Ranjan K Panda is a senior researcher and development practitioner, currently heading Manav Adhikar Seva Samiti (MASS), Sambalpur, Orissa. He is the Editor at Large of monthly Oriya magazine “Panira Dagara” (Water Messenger). He has written for Down to Earth and Info Change Web portal.

RAJAT KUMAR KUJUR
Rajat Kumar Kujur, Senior Lecturer, Sambalpur College, Orissa. He has completed his Doctoral study on “The Naxal Movement in India with special reference to Orissa” from the Center for Political Studies in the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi in December 2006. Dr. Kujur has written extensively on Naxal and governance problem in Economic and Political Weekly, IPCS web and Human Touch. He has been associated actively with Society for the Study of Peace and Conflict since its inception.

RAJEEV RANJAN CHATURVEDY
Rajeev Ranjan Chaturvedy is presently working with National Maritime Foundation, New Delhi, as a Research Associate and concurrently pursuing doctoral study in South Asian Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He was a Fellow in Indian Pugwash Society, New Delhi. He has written extensively on China, South Asian security India’s foreign policy and nuclear issues. Mr. Chaturvedy has written for Mainstream, Proliferation and Arms Control (monthly newsletter of Indian Pugwash Society), IDSA Web and IPCS Web among others.

RICHARD MAHAPATRA
Richard Mahapatra is presently with New Delhi based Center for Science and Environment, New Delhi. He worked as South Asia Regional Coordinator at Bank Informatioin Center (USA) New Delhi. A prolific writer, he reported extensively on environment-poverty linkages in rural areas, people’s movements for rights over natural resources, and other livelihood issues for CSE’s Down to Earth and InfoChange India.

RUDRA CHAUDHURI
Rudra Chaudhuri is a Doctoral student at the Department of War Studies, King’s College, London. He had a brief stint as a research intern at the Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi. His research interests include Indo-US strategic relations, nuclear proliferation and peacekeeping operations. He has contributed to academic and web based journals.

SITAKANTA MISHRA
Sitakanta Mishra is presently working as a Fellow in Center for Air Power Studies (CAPS), New Delhi. He is the editorial associate of Indian Foreign Affairs Journal (A Quarterly of Association of Indian Diplomats, New Delhi). Previously he was a Research Assistant in the Indian Pugwash Society, New Delhi. Mr Mishra is pursuing his Doctoral study in South Asian Studies Division, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

SUKANYA PODDER
Sukanya Podder is Research Assistant at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), New Delhi and concurrently doctoral candidate in Disarmament Studies, CIPOD, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her articles have been published in Strategic Analysis, Journal of Peace Studies and for newspapers and websites.

SWATI PARASHAR
Swati Parashar is a Doctoral candidate at the Department of Politics and International Relation at the University of Lancaster in the United Kingdom. She was a Research Analyst with the International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research at the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, Singapore from March 2006 to September 2006. She was a Fulbright Fellow at the University of California, San Diego, Jan-Feb, 2006. She was also associated with the International Terrorism Watch Programme at the Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi. She has written for Asia Times, The Straits Times, IPCS and SAAG (South Asia Analysis Group).

S. S. TABRAZ
SS Tabraz is presently teaching International Relations as a Lecturer in Pondicherry University, after completing Doctoral programme from the School of International Studies (SIS), Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has written for Islam and the Modern Age, Economic & Political Weekly and Peace & Conflict Monitor (PCM). He has been associated with the Society for Study in Peace and Conflict since its inception.

THANGJAM KHURSHCHEV SINGH
Thangjam Khurshchev Singh is Research Assistant at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), New Delhi. He received his Masters degree from the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies, University of Pune in 2003. His specialisation includes terrorist networks and the creation of data banks on terrorism-related issues. Mr. Singh has written for Strategic Analysis and Agni, among others.

VIJAY SAKHUJA
Vijay Sakhuja is Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, Singapore. A former Indian Navy officer, Vijay Sakhuja received his Doctorate from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He was Senior Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation, a public policy think tank at New Delhi (August 2004- August 2006); Research Fellow at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses(IDSA), New Delhi (July 1999 to July 2003); and United Service Institution of India, New Delhi (1998-99). He has authored a book titled ‘Confidence Building From The Sea: An Indian Initiative’ and is the recipient of Vice Admiral S L Sethi Maritime Media Award, 2002. His research areas include Asia Pacific Security, maritime and naval developments and maritime risk analyses. He contributes regularly for Peace Forum, Taiwan, Opinion Asia, Singapore and several other electronic and print journals. He has been associated with Society for the Study of Peace and Conflict since its inception.

W. LAWRENCE S. PRABHAKAR
Dr W.Lawrence S. Prabhakar is Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Madras Christian College, Chennai. He was a Visiting Research Fellow in the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore during August 2004-February 2005 and a South Asia Visiting Fellow at The Henry Stimson Center, Washington DC USA. He has written extensively on Maritime issues, Asymmetric Warfare and Missile Defense.
